Burning Cherries
100-minute feature film script
Writer Rita returns to her home town for her mother's funeral and becomes a short-term tenant of a young girl, Lily.
Rita is at a bottleneck in writing, haunted by the death of her mother and her unchanging and decaying life.
She discovers by chance that she can peek into the room of her landlord, Lily. Rita discovers that LILY has an eccentric fetish for collecting things, which piqued Rita's interest and inspired her new fiction. Lily is also attracted to Rita, and she starts to collect Rita's personal belongings and imagine Rita's life.
In the process of peeking and collecting, their interest in each other grows. As they gaze at each other, imagine, and obsess over each other, their mediocre lives are opened up to new possibilities by the presence of each other.
Their hidden affection for each other brings them heavenly times and vicious strife before a fire unravels the secrets of the past and future between the two.
